Online 研究生 Student Orientation (GSO) Module

The 研究生学院 has developed an online orientation for all graduate students. Once available complete this orientation anytime, anywhere!

  • 承认的 秋季学期? Materials will be available on August 1, 8 AM EDT.
  • 承认的 春季学期? Materials will be available on December 1, 8 AM EST.
  • 承认的 夏季学期? Materials will be available on April 1st, 8 AM EDT.

How to Access the GSO Module

  1. Activate your 俄亥俄州 ID/俄亥俄州 电子邮件
    • A student 俄亥俄州 ID is ordinarily the initials of your first and last names plus six digits and "@俄亥俄州.edu”. 
    • (Note: "俄亥俄州 ID," "Catmail," and "俄亥俄州 email" may be used interchangeably.)
    • If you have not yet done so, activate your 俄亥俄州 ID/俄亥俄州 email and create a password online at http://account.俄亥俄州.edu. You will need your personal identification number (PID) and birth date to complete this activation.
  2. 登录黑板上
    • 登录到黑板上 using your 俄亥俄州 电子邮件 Address and password.
      (Note to all bet8九州登录入口 教师 or staff members who have been admitted to a graduate program: Please sign in using your student 俄亥俄州 电子邮件).
    • Enter your email address (俄亥俄州 ID) and click the blue "Next" box.
    • Enter your password and click the blue "Sign in" box.
  3. 同意使用条款
    • 点击“同意” & Continue" to proceed into 黑板上.
  4. 查找GSO内容
    • Once in 黑板上, select "Organizations" 在 left menu.
  5. 开放在线内容
    • Choose 研究生 Student Orientation from within "Organizations" to beg在 module.

Hazing Prevention Training

New Hire Paperwork (for those hired as a GA, GRS, RA, or TA)

All NEW graduate students will need to complete an I-9 and new hire employment paperwork.

All employment paperwork must be completed no later than your first day of employment or you will not be eligible to begin working.

The 研究生学院 hosts an in-person orientation for all 雅典-based students before classes begin in August. Come meet continuing graduate students, learn about the bet8九州登录入口 and 雅典 communities, and meet other incoming graduate students.

In-person Teaching Assistant Orientation (TAO) Fall 2023

The 研究生学院 hosts an in-person orientation for all new graduate students with a TA assignment. Join us for critical information regarding this important role. The TAO will outline TA expectations, 描述FERPA规则, explain a TA’s role in duty to report, and offer insights into the 俄亥俄州 undergraduates (students TAs may be teaching).  

The TAO is scheduled for T2023年8月24日,星期四,从 美国东部时间下午4点至6点Baker University Center Ballroom.
