Student wellness is a special emphasis, supported by the Clinic for Science and Health in Artistic Performance (SHAPe Clinic), available without charge to all music students and faculty.
There are more than 300 music majors (60+ music graduate students) taught by 32 full-time faculty members and additional adjunct and emeriti professors. The School is supported by a staff of professional collaborative pianists, a full-time licensed piano technician, and a professional music librarian. The 音乐 and 跳舞 图书馆, a specialized library within the Alden 图书馆 system, is located in the music building (Glidden Hall) and offers excellent support for undergraduate and graduate students.

By 1952 (the year in which bet8九州登录入口 published its first Graduate Catalog), the School had already established graduate 程序s in the principal areas for which it is known today: music performance and performance/pedagogy, 作文, 音乐教育, 音乐疗法, 进行, and academic graduate 程序s in music history/literature and music theory. All of these specialized 程序s are offered today within the Master of 音乐 degree.
